This course will teach students advanced skills for working with SharePoint Designer 2013. This 12-module course covers data sources, external objects, lists and libraries, cascading style sheets, web parts, web part zones, workflows, data views, and item forms.
Working with Data Sources
This module will show students how to view existing data sources, link to SharePoint data sources, rename SharePoint data sources, and delete a SharePoint data source.
Working with External Objects
In this module, students are taught about database, SOAP and REST connections. They will also be shown how to create an XML connection, how to create a database connection, and how to create a SOAP or REST connection.
Working with Individual Lists and Libraries
Lists and libraries are the focus of this module. Covered here are how to: open a list or library, change a list or library’s name and description, change a list or library’s permission, and preview a list or library in the browser.
Customizing List or Library Behavior
This module follows deeper into lists and libraries. It shows how to: add and remove content types, add and remove views, add and remove list forms, and how to add and remove custom actions.
Using Cascading Style Sheets
Here, students are taught about cascading style sheets (CSS). They will learn how to create CSS files, attach a style sheet to a page, and delete CSS files.
Using Styles
This module teaches about styles and the style tab by showing students how to: open and work with the Style tab, create a new style, use the Apply Styles pane, and use the Manage Styles pane.
Working with Web Parts
This module instructs students about web parts and how to: create web part pages, add web parts to an existing page, save a web part, and delete a web part.
Working with Web Part Zones
Web part zones are the topic here and students are shown how to: create web part zones, customize web part zones, control web part zones, and delete a web part zone.
Managing Workflows
This module shows types of workflows and how to: create workflows, view workflows, edit workflows, rename workflows, and delete workflows.
Advanced Workflow Tasks
In this module, students are shown ways to: change workflow start options, save a workflow template, export workflows to Visio, and import workflows from Visio.
Creating Data Views
Data views are the focus here and students are shown how to: create a new data view, edit a data view, and test a data view.
Creating Item Forms
This concluding module gives students the tools to: create a new item form, edit an item form, and test an item form.
